In May 2023, the Cameroon Academy of Neurology organized its Second Training Course. The aim of this course was the initial training of medical students and the continuous medical education of doctors and other health professionals to improve the neurological care in this region without a neurologist. 16 faculties including and 184 participants attended this course. On Day 1, During the first two sessions, we discussed the diagnostic strategy in the face of movement disorders. The diagnostic and therapeutic approach to the common movement disorders (Parkinson’s disease and secondary Parkinson’s syndromes, chorea, dystonia, tremors, myoclonus and ataxia) was then discuss. The next session focused on strokes. During this session, Prof Amadou Ba, cardiologist and Director General of the General Hospital of Garoua presented on the contribution of cardiac work-up in the etiological diagnosis of ischemic stroke.
